Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Mytikas (“we”, “us”), the maker of Glowbie. By downloading, installing or using the app, or by using this website, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Glowbie.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle data and forms part of this agreement.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Glowbie on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the App Store’s rules. We keep every right we do not expressly give you.
You may not, and may not let anyone else:
- copy, modify or create derivative works of the app, its catalogue, text or artwork
- reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code, except where the law allows it
- rent, lease, sell, sublicense or publicly distribute the app or its content
- scrape or bulk-export the product and ingredient catalogue
- remove or hide any ownership notice
Who can use Glowbie
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country sets a higher age of digital consent. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and supervise your use, including any purchase.
What Glowbie does
Glowbie is a skincare companion. It reads visible features of your skin from a photo, builds and checks skincare routines, explains product ingredients, scores how well a product fits the profile you gave it, and offers Naia, an AI guide. Features, the catalogue, limits and prices can change. We may add, change or remove features, and we will try to give notice of changes that significantly reduce what a subscription includes.
Product and ingredient information comes from product labels, retailers, brands and public scientific and regulatory sources. Formulas change and labels can be wrong or out of date, so always check the package of the product you actually have.
Cosmetic, not medical
- A personal fit score reflects the goals, avoids and allergy terms you saved. It is not a safety rating, and a high score does not mean a product is safe for you.
- Allergy and avoid checks match ingredient names on the label. They can miss synonyms, cross-reactions and unlisted ingredients. If you have an allergy, read the full label yourself.
- Patch test new products, introduce strong actives slowly, and follow the directions on the package. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or using prescription treatment, ask your clinician before starting a product.
- Use sunscreen as directed. The UV card is a forecast, not a measurement where you stand.
Skin reads and AI
Skin reads are produced by our skin analysis partner’s software, and Naia’s answers and finding captions by an AI model. Please understand what that means:
- A skin read describes what is visible in one photo. Light, angle, makeup and the camera all change the result, and two photos of the same skin can read differently.
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when it sounds sure.
- Use your own judgement before acting on anything Glowbie says, and check anything that matters.
Skin reads, Naia and captions have allowances and limits, and we may refuse requests that look like abuse. A read that fails because of our service is given back; a photo that can’t be read may still use a read after a few retries. See the privacy policy for what leaves your phone.
Your content
Your photos, profile, notes and messages stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to process what you send so we can provide the feature you asked for, and to review copies of AI exchanges to improve Naia’s answers. We do not claim ownership of it, and we do not use it to advertise.
Only submit photos of yourself, or of someone who has agreed, and only text you have the right to use.
Acceptable use
Do not use Glowbie to:
- break the law or someone else’s rights
- upload anything unlawful, harmful or sexually explicit, or photos of someone without their agreement
- get around allowances, device checks or membership checks, or share access in ways Apple does not allow
- send automated, bulk or scripted requests to our service
- probe, disrupt or attack our servers, or try to reach data that is not yours
- use skin reads, Naia or the catalogue to build or train a competing product
We may limit or block access that breaks these rules.
Glowbie Pro
Glowbie is free to download. Skin reads, Naia and your full results need Glowbie Pro, an auto-renewing subscription. The length, price and any free trial are shown in the app and by the App Store before you confirm. Prices include the taxes the App Store applies and are charged in your local currency.
Glowbie Pro includes a set number of skin reads per period, shown in the app. Included reads that you do not use do not carry over. A free trial includes one read in total, and only one trial read can be used on each iPhone.
Prices, discounts and offer lengths can differ between people and over time, including when we test different offers. Your installation is placed in a test group at random, never priced on your personal details. The price the App Store shows when you confirm is the price you pay, and a later offer does not change a subscription you already bought. Each person can claim a gift offer once.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you chose.
- Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) at any time. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
Scan packs
Scan packs are one-time purchases that add skin reads. Pack reads are used only after your included reads, do not expire, and belong to your App Store subscription, so they follow you to a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account. Using them needs an active Glowbie Pro membership. A pack that Apple refunds is removed, along with any of its reads not yet used.
Refunds, restores and price changes
Apple handles billing and refunds, and its refund policy applies. We cannot refund an App Store charge ourselves, so please ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Use Restore on the membership screen to recover Glowbie Pro on a new device. If a price rises, Apple will tell you and may ask for your consent before your next renewal.
Ownership
Glowbie, including its code, design, catalogue, writing, illustrations, the Naia character, name and logo, belongs to Mytikas or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Brand names, logos and product photos belong to their owners and are shown to identify products; their appearance does not mean a brand endorses Glowbie. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
Third-party services
Glowbie relies on services from others, including Apple, AILabTools, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Adapty, PostHog, Open Beauty Facts and Open-Meteo. Their terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for them. If one of them is down, part of Glowbie may not work.
Disclaimers
Glowbie is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose, or that skin reads, scores, ingredient information or AI answers will be accurate or give you a particular result. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mytikas is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, or for a reaction to a product you chose to use. Our total liability for any claim about Glowbie is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us through the App Store in the 12 months before the claim and 50 euros. None of this limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription in your Apple Account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers and liability, continue after that.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell you in the app or in the release notes. Using Glowbie after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, stop using the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
Apple terms
These apply because you got Glowbie from the Apple App Store.
- This agreement is between you and Mytikas only, not Apple. Mytikas, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Mytikas is responsible for support, and you can reach us through the support page.
- If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claim, loss or cost caused by a failure to meet a warranty is Mytikas’s responsibility.
- Mytikas, not Apple, is responsible for any claims about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property, Mytikas, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending and settling that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile carrier’s.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement. When you accept it, Apple can enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.
